The CAIB program immerses students in the study of personal and commercial lines of property and casualty insurance. This four-course program culminates in a national examination, and qualifies candidates for the nationally recognized professional designation of Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB). Passing the CAIB exams is the first step towards becoming a licensed insurance broker in Saskatchewan. The CAIB designation tells your clients that you are an experienced, dedicated professional who has been trained to fulfill your duties and responsibilities. Brokerages choose applicants with a CAIB designation over those without because they know that those individuals are more qualified to work in the industry.

Step 1: Pass the Fundamentals of Insurance exam for your Level 1 license. This allows you to sell insurance inside, but not outside of, a brokerage office under the supervision of a licensed broker. Step 2: Pass CAIB 2 and 3 to get your Level 2 license, which lets you work independently. Step 3: Pass the CAIB 4 exam to get your Level 3, which is required to own or manage a brokerage and/or supervise other brokers.
Each of the CAIB exams is an online 3.5-hour exam made up of multiple-choice, definition and short-answer questions. Registrations for writing more than one exam on the same day are NOT allowed. All exams scheduled (or reregistered) within one year of a previous attempt are treated as a rewrite and have higher exam fees.
